Hello hello!
Happy weekend everyone!
Today’s pattern is one that you are going to love!
Are you in all of the market-prep right now? – If your answer is YES then this pattern is for you!
Pin it now, crochet later!
When you’re trying to prepare for a market, all you want to do is crochet/knit things that are quick and easy yet beautiful, right?
So today I will show you how to crochet the Lulu headband.
If you are a beginner, this tutorial/pattern will be ideal for you, as it is extremely simple and quick to make.
Fall is coming, along with cooler days and sooner than later Mr. Winter will be here.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a mom to a little baby and having my hair nice and “done” every day it’s not an option for me. Therefore a headband is my best friend in the winter. I’m all about the messy-bun life!
Even if you’re not a mom, I’m pretty sure your hair ends up in a bun sometimes, am I right?
Now, let’s get into the pattern.

Bulky Pattern
Start with your foundation chain. Chain the number needed accordingly to your desired size:
Newborn(3-6, 6-12, Toddler, Child, Teen, Adult)
Chain 4(6, 6, 8, 10, 12, 12) + 1.
Row 1: In the second chain from the hook *sc 1, ss 1. Repeat from the * to the end of the row.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn your work, now work in the first space available *sc 1, ss 1. Repeat from the * to the end of the row.
Repeat row 2 until reaching the desired length:
47(55, 58, 66, 69, 77, 84) rows in total.
Once you’re done cut the yarn; leaving a long tail to sew the ends together.
Now you can close your headband in two different ways:
Method No. 1: Twisted
Fold both ends together, interlocking them. You should have 4 pieces (see picture below), carefully sew them, making sure you’re not missing any spots, or else it will leave a small hole and we don’t want that.
Then tie a few knots, weave in the ends, cut the remaining yarn and you are DONE!
Method No. 2: Bow
For this method, all you need to do is align both ends together, and with your tapestry needle sew both ends together in a zigzag motion. Then firmly pull the yarn to scrunch the middle.
Tie the yarn with the other tail, or sew it so it won’t undo and that’s it!

Hello! I love this pattern but I’m wondering if there is an error with the number of rows that should be worked for the bulky weight? The adult size says to work 84 rows in total but based on the gauge, that means the final size would be 28 inches which seems much too large?

Hi Stephanie!
This pattern is worked up with a combination of stitches. The gauge is for you to find a yarn that would work with this pattern. If we follow the gauge for the size, it would probably be bigger as the gauge was done with all single crochet 🙂 I hope this helps!
