Who This Pattern Is For
The Sunday Morning Blanket is a great project for crocheters of all skill levels, but I think beginners will especially love it. The stitch pattern is made using a simple 2-stitch repeat that is easy to memorize, making it the perfect project to work on while watching your favourite show or enjoying a quiet evening at home. If you are looking for a relaxing crochet blanket pattern that doesn’t require constant counting or complicated techniques, this one is for you. It’s also a wonderful choice for more experienced crocheters who want a quick and satisfying project that works up beautifully in super chunky yarn.
About the Yarn
For the Sunday Morning Blanket, I used Cover Story by Lion Brand Yarn, a super bulky weight yarn with a soft chenille texture that is perfect for cozy blankets. If you’ve worked with chenille yarn before, I would say this one feels slightly thicker than your typical #6 super bulky chenille, which helps the blanket work up even faster while creating a beautiful, plush fabric. I love using this yarn for blankets because it is incredibly soft, squishy, and warm, making it perfect for snuggling on the couch or adding an extra layer of comfort to your bed. The thicker yarn also helps create great stitch definition, allowing the simple stitch pattern to really shine.

General Notes
- A border is completely optional for this pattern, but feel free to add one if you’d like. Just keep in mind that doing so will require additional yarn.

- If you would like to modify the size of this blanket, you will need a chain multiple of 2+1.
