Hello friends!
I can’t believe we are now at our last free pattern from this beautiful ANDES Collection. I had so much fun creating these pieces for you guys, I knew I wanted something simple but beautiful and I think we got it!
For this last pattern, let me introduce to you the Andes Infinity Scarf.
This gorgeous scarf has a very nice “knit” look to it, the same as the rest of the collection.
Because it’s a very repetitive process, it makes it super easy for beginners that are starting to learn how to crochet and what’s better than an infinity scarf!
You can work on this project in an evening, we are using here a very chunky yarn so that makes it even easier to identify the stitches and to go quickly.
Remember always to share your final product using the hashtag #AndesScarf and tagging me on Instagram or Facebook. We can’t forget how important it is to give credit to the designer and share their videos/blogs. This way you are supporting my work and I can continue offering you FREE patterns and videos!
There are a few stitches that you should know before starting this project so make sure to practice them a little bit before.
Stitches you should know
- Chain
- Slip Stitch
- Half Double Crochet
Materials
- 340 grams of Super Bulky weight yarn, #6
- A 10 mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
- Stitch Marker (optional)
Abbreviations
- HDCSS – Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch
- HDCSS BLO – Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch, Back Loop Only
Pattern
Let’s begin with the foundation chain (make sure this chain is not too tight)
Chain 104
Make sure your chain is not twisted, then join the round with a slip stitch.
Row 1: First of all, turn your chain, we will work in the back, not the front as we would normally do. Then HDCSS in the very first space available. Keep working all the way around (104 stitches in total)
Row 2: Chain 1, turn your work. Now work an HDCSS BLO in the first stitch available. Repeat all the way around (104)
TIP! – If it is hard for you to recognize either the first or last stitch of each row, I suggest you place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each row, as well as counting your stitches in each row will help you to keep track and not end up with more/fewer stitches in your project.
Row 3-15: Repeat row #2 (104)
Once you’re done, cut the yarn, join the last row and weave in the ends.
With this size scarf, you should be able to wrap it around your neck twice. You can always make it longer if you’d like or wider if you want to use an extra skein of yarn.
This infinity scarf measures 8.5 inches wide x 48.5 inches long
I really hope you guys liked this tutorial/pattern, if so please don’t forget to share this post and video with your friends and family and tag me on Instagram with the hashtag #AndesScarf #AndesCollection
Happy Crochet! ~ Dani
