But, it’s all good, better later than never, so here it is, this beautiful and super easy crochet pacifier clip can be made as quick as 15 minutes!

To make this pacifier clip, you will need some basic crochet supplies, in fact, this project is PERFECT for a stash buster, as it uses very little yarn.

About the yarn
For this project, I chose to use 100% mercerized cotton yarn, here is why:
First, it’s soft and gentle against a baby’s delicate skin. This is important, as the pacifier clip will be in close contact with the baby’s face and mouth.
In addition to being soft, cotton yarn is also durable and easy to care for. Making it a practical choice for a baby accessory.
Another benefit of using cotton yarn is that it comes in a wide range of colours. This means you can choose a colour that matches the baby’s outfit or nursery decor, or create a variety of clips in different colours to give as gifts.
Overall, using cotton yarn for this pacifier clip project is a smart choice, It’s soft, durable, easy to care for, and comes in a bunch of colours.
I personally love using Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton, but another great alternative would be Dishie by WeCrochet or KnitPicks
Another alternative that I have recently tried, is Velvet yarn, and let me tell you, they are beautiful! I love how soft they look, and I’m sure they would look amazing with baby outfits. Just make sure to use high-quality velvet yarn, so it doesn’t get fluffies all over the baby.
Pay attention to the length!
The length of a pacifier clip is an important safety consideration, as it can impact the risk of choking or strangulation. In Canada, the maximum length for a pacifier clip is 22 cm. This is to ensure that the clip is short enough to prevent the baby from wrapping it around their neck or getting it caught on other objects.
It’s important to follow this length guideline when making or even purchasing pacifier clips, as longer clips can pose a serious safety risk. Parents and caregivers should also regularly inspect pacifier clips for signs of wear or damage, and replace them as needed.
We, as makers, have the responsibility of making babies’ or kids’ items as safe as possible, especially when selling.
Another point to consider. If you know your pacifier clip will stretch a bit, in this case, with the yarn, make them a bit smaller than 22 cm. I usually make mine at around 19-20 cm, so that I have a bit of given for the stretch of the yarn.

Pattern
Set up row: Insert hook in the pacifier space, pull up a look, ch 1, then sc 2 in the clip space.
Row 1: Ch 5, ss in the 1st sts from the previous row, ch1, turn, then sc 6 in the ch space.
Now you are going to repeat row 1 over and over until reaching 20 cm (around 15 or 16 loops)
