Today’s tutorial is that, a beautiful and easy blanket.

Yarn
You will need 3 skeins of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. Each skein has 170g/87m.

Pattern
Using the long-tail cast-on method (or your desired method)
CO 64 stitches
Note: We are working garter stitch for the bottom and top border, and also for the 5 stitches on each end.
Row 1-8: Slip the first stitch onto the right needle, then knit all the way down. (garter stitch).
For the body of the blanket:
Row 1: Slip the first stitch onto the right needle, then k 4, pm, then p until 5 sts remaining. Pm and k the last 5 sts.
Row 2: Slip the first stitch to the right needle, k 4, move marker, k all the way until the next marker, move marker, k the last 5 sts.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until 80 rows are completed for the body.
Once you finish the body, now we will continue with the top border. Now work 8 rows of garter stitch. Same as the beginning.
Cast off your stitches and weave in the ends.

Updated version with seed stitch border
For this blanket, you will need the same amount of yarn needed for the previous version.

Row 2: P [K, P]. Repeat all the way down.
Row 3: K, [P, K]. Repeat all the way down.
Row 4: P [K, P]. Repeat all the way down.
Row 5: K, [P, K]. Repeat all the way down.
Row 6: P [K, P]. Repeat all the way down.
Row 7: K, [P, K]. Repeat all the way down.
Row 8: P [K, P]. Repeat all the way down.
Row 9: K, [P, K]. Repeat all the way down.
Row 10: P [K, P]. Repeat all the way down.
For the body of the blanket:
Row 11: K, P, K, P, K, P, PM, K53, PM, K, P, K, P, K
Row 12: P, K, P, K, P, K, move marker, P53, move marker, P, K, P, K, P
Row 13: K, P, K, P, K, P, move marker, K53, move marker, K, P, K, P, K
Now alternate rows 12 and 13 until completing 84 rows in total for the body. 94 rows in total, including the bottom border.
Now we work the last part of the border, which is seed stitch again for 10 rows.
you should have 104 rows in total.
Let’s recap: 10 rows for the bottom border in seed stitch, 84 rows in stockinette, and 10 rows for the top border in seed stitch.
Cast off your stitches and weave in the ends.
