Hello hello everyone!
It’s Dani here, with another blanket pattern, yet again!
I know you guys love these blanket patterns because they are easy, mindless and so fun to make! So I couldn’t resist and make another one.

This blanket is very special, I started here in Canada and brought it to Chile as a gift for my dad.
He has always been a fan of my work since the minute I started knitting (his mom is the one who taught me how to knit).
I think he still has a scarf I made for him, probably 20 years ago. He truly loves everything I make, and wears it to this day!
So there was no doubt in my mind that he needed one of my blankets.
Unlimited colour combinations
Every time I make a new blanket I get a ton of questions about my colour choices. So many of you love the combinations I come up with, and let me tell you, I don’t do anything special to match colours.
All I do is go to the yarn store, put one skein next to the other and then see what goes together.
My thought process is very simple, I always have the idea in mind, then who I’m making this blanket for, in this case, my dad, so I knew I wanted a “masculine” colour. After having my main colour in mind, I try to imagine the design, stripes, etc… and go ahead and draw it so I can visualize it better.
Once I have the design and the main colour, I start adding some contrasting colours to see how it goes. This blanket, because I was making it for my dad, I knew I didn’t want too many colours, but I also knew that it needed to have mustard, because, duh, it’s me 😅
So that’s a little bit of my BTS on choosing colours. Now, this blanket, like I said, it’s a blank canvas for you to choose any colours.
Just pick your main colour and add 2 colours that will go well with it, and that’s it!
Why Chenille yarn?
Ever since I made my very first blanket with chenille yarn, I fell in love with it. Not just for the texture and how soft it is, but it’s also extremely warm and really quick to work with.
I know chenille yarn isn’t cheap, and it can be very pricey to make a big blanket, but hear me out (or read me out, better say 😂), use coupons, bring your whole family to use the coupons for you! Don’t buy full price, make sure you are buying when on sale. Be patient and wait for a big sale to buy your yarn.
You can also try to get wholesale, but this is only an option for those who crochet/knit a lot, to sell or for pattern-making. But if you have the means, it’s also an option.
7 hours blanket? Heck no!
For some of you, it might seem hard to believe, but it’s true! It really did take about 6ish hours to make this blanket.
I obviously didn’t sit on the couch and crochet for 7 hours straight, gosh no, but an hour here and there, yes.
Here is the thing, no matter how fast or slow you crochet, this will be a “quick” make regardless, keep in mind we are using a super bulky weight yarn and a 12 mm hook!
So even if you are a super slow crocheter, you still can make this blanket relatively quickly.
Don’t get discouraged, and don’t say “Oh no, that’s false”, because we all crochet/knit a different speed, and I promise you, the more you practice, the faster you will get!
Beginner friendly?
Oh, you better believe it!
To make this blanket, we will be using the griddle stitch, which is a combination of 2 stitches, a single crochet and a double crochet, that’s it, that’s all.
If you know the basic crochet stitches, you can make this blanket, whether in 7 hours or in 10, you can make this blanket.
The video tutorial is also super helpful, and I show you exactly how to change colours and/or join a new strand of yarn.

General Notes
- This pattern was made using a 12 mm hook, but if you crochet loosely, feel free to size down to 10 mm, just make sure you meet the gauge.
- To make it easier for you, remember that every row begins with a single crochet and ends with a double crochet.
- At the beginning of each row, you won’t start with a chain, instead, just pull the yarn slightly and go straight to a single crochet in the first st available (this will help create a straight edge).

As per the border, I didn’t really want to make one, because I really like the way it looks just like this, but please feel free to add a border if you’d like.
