The Snowberry Blanket is sweet, festive, and so easy to knit. Inspired by Christmas, this baby blanket is made with a cheerful blend of pink, red, and white that evokes the sweetness of candy canes and frosted berries.
This pattern is completely beginner-friendly and worked with just knit and purl stitches, creating a fun texture that looks beautiful but is simple to make.

About the yarn I used
For this blanket, I used Wool-Ease Thick & Quick from Lion Brand Yarn, one of my go-to chunky yarns.
It’s a super bulky #6 yarn that works up really fast, which makes it perfect for quick projects like this baby blanket. I love that it’s a blend of acrylic and wool, so you get the warmth and softness of wool with the easy care of acrylic.
It’s also widely available and comes in so many fun colours, so you can easily swap shades to make your blanket more classic, playful, or even neutral, depending on your style.

About the size & construction
This blanket is worked flat. We begin with the bottom border, then set aside a few stitches on each side so we can keep knitting the border while working on the main body. The body is knit by switching colours every few rows, and with a mix of knit and purl stitches, we create the texture and the look of squares. Once we’ve finished all the rows for the size we’re making, we move on to the top border, then it’s time to cast off and enjoy our cozy blanket!
The size provided in this pattern is a baby blanket, perfect for a stroller, cozy up on the couch, or even a crib!
But don’t worry, if you need a different size, you can purchase the PDF Downloadable file and get a wide variety of sizes.
Wash/block your blanket!
This is especially important if it’s going to be used by a tiny human. If you are planning on gifting this blanket or using it for your own babies, please wash it with a gentle detergent and tumble dry.
This not only will clean your blanket, but it will also make it extra soft and with an even better drape!

Note: From this point on, the blanket will always have 5 stitches on each end that make up the border. We’ll use stitch markers to separate the border from the rest of the blanket so things don’t get mixed up. Don’t follow the stitch pattern from the body in those border stitches; it’s super important to mark them clearly so you don’t accidentally blend the two sections together. I will have the border in parentheses so it’s easy to identify.
