About the yarn 🧶
For this project, I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, and honestly, it couldn’t be more perfect for this kind of project. It’s chunky, soft, and works up so fast, exactly what you want when you need a cozy project that gives instant results.
You’ll only need two balls of yarn for either the cowl or the infinity scarf, which makes it a great stash-friendly project too. I love that even with such a small amount of yarn, you end up with a piece that looks and feels super luxurious. It’s warm, has the perfect texture, and that slight wool blend gives it just the right touch of coziness without being itchy.
If you’re into quick, satisfying projects (and who isn’t when it’s cold out?), this yarn is the one.
Knowing you basic stitches
This project is all about the basics, and that’s what makes it so fun! You’ll only need to know a few simple stitches, but the way they’re combined gives the scarf that beautiful, textured look.
If you’re comfortable with your chain, single crochet, and double crochet, you’re all set! These stitches repeat over and over, so once you get into the rhythm, it’s super relaxing and easy to follow.
It’s the kind of project that lets you enjoy the process, no complicated stitch counting or tricky techniques, just you, your yarn, and that cozy “one more round” feeling. Perfect for beginners or anyone who just wants a peaceful, quick make.
One thing I would recommend, is using your stitch markers at the beginning/end of each round, this will ensure that you are placing your stitches in the correct spot.

Taking care of your scarf/cowl
Depending on the material you decide to use, and how often you use your cowl/scarf, is the care they should have. Now, the pattern I’m sharing here with you is for an accessory that you would use very often in the winter time, so therefore you should wash it more often.
Always check your yarn label to make sure you are washing your pieces properly. In there you will have clear instructions on how to wash/dry the yarn you are using.
Another thing super handy to have is a fabric shaver. This will remove any lint or pills that your cowl might get as time and use goes on.
Here is a link to one I recently bough and I absolutely love, it’s a big size, and also can be use while plugged in, which is so much more convenient when you want max power. I highly recommend it.
If you would like the ad-free printable pattern PDF, you can get it from Etsy or My Shop. If you would like to purchase the kit (yarn+pattern) you can do so from the Lion Brand Website.

- sc – Single Crochet

General Notes
- I highly recommend using a stitch marker at the beginning of the round to ensure the placement of your first and last stitch.
- The infinity scarf was designed to wrap your neck around twice.
- This cowl was designed with enough length so you can fold the top for a cozy, layered look.
- Both projects use the same amount of yarn.
- If you’d like your infinity scarf to be longer, simply add more chains at the start. Just keep in mind that adding chains will also require more yarn.
Pattern
To make the infinity scarf chain 104, to make the cowl chain 50.
Once your ch is done, make sure it isn’t twisted and sl st into the first ch to join the round.
Round 1: Sc into the very first ch (same as the sl st) (PHOTO A), then dc into the next ch, [sc, dc], repeat the sequence around (PHOTO B & C). Sl st into the first st of the round to join (PHOTO D), ch 1 and turn. (104 sts)
Round 2: Place your first sc on top of the dc from the previous round (PHOTO E), then make a dc on top of the sc from the previous round. Continue repeating [sc, dc] all the way around, your last dc should go into the very last space (PHOTO F). Sl st into the first st of the round to join, ch 1 and turn. (104 sts)
For the infinity scarf, repeat round 2 for another 9 rounds (11 in total).
For the cowl, repeat round 2 for another 25 rounds (27 in total).
Fasten off and weave in your ends.
Note: About halfway through your project, you’ll need to join a new ball of yarn, use your favourite method for this step. You can also check out the video tutorial to see the joining method I like to use!
