Oh, hi there! Long time no see!
It’s been a little while since I wrote a pattern, but here we are again! Installed in my new office and ready to get working on new designs.
This precious blanket is my newest knit pattern. It is fun and relatively easy to make; we only use knit and purl stitches and change colours.
A fun, beginner-friendly pattern for those who are starting to play with a bit of texture.

About the yarn I used
For this baby blanket, we are going to be using a worsted weight #4 yarn, which is not too thin, not too chunky, just right in the middle. The specific yarn I used is Color Theory by Lion Brand Yarn, which is one of my favourites (besides Wool-Ease). This yarn is soft and has a beautiful drape once knitted.
I used a very neutral palette –> Caper, Bone, Nutmeg and Ivory.

About the size & construction
This blanket is worked flat. We begin with the bottom border, then set aside a few stitches on each side so we can keep knitting the border while working on the main body. The body is knit by switching colours every few rows, and with a mix of knit and purl stitches, we create little textures that resemble mountains (hence the name!). Once we’ve finished all the rows for the size we’re making, we move on to the top border, then it’s time to cast off and enjoy our cozy blanket!
Wash/block your blanket!
This is especially important if it’s going to be used by a tiny human. If you are planning on gifting this blanket or using it for your own babies, please wash it with gentle detergent and tumble dry.
This not only will clean your blanket, but it will also make it extra soft and with an even better drape!
