Hello Hello!
I’m back with easy and fast knitting tutorials and patterns. You guys know that I absolutely love quick and easy projects, that we can tackle in one day. That’s why I have been wanting to share these patterns with you guys.
These 2 twisted headbands.
Pin now, knit later!
Last winter (2021) I attended a few markets and these headbands were my best-sellers. I had to constantly be making more to continue selling, it was crazy!
So imagine, I was knitting them as I was selling them, so believe me when I say they’re really quick and easy to make.
You can use any kind of yarn that you have, mix colours, create different textures, use any kind of stitches, etc.
I’m going to show you the Garter Stitch and Seed Stitch ones because they’re my favourite and really easy to adjust in length and width.
For this specific project, I will use 100% Merino Wool. The yarn is called “The Wool” by We Are Knitters, but please note that you can use any kind of yarn that you want.
For this free pattern, we will use The Wool, category 6 Super Bulky Yarn (although I would categorize it as 6.5 or even 7 as it is slightly thicker than a regular 6), if you would rather have the ad-free printable pattern PDF you can purchase it in the link below.

Before starting, please note that I have made the width of the headband based on my personal preferences, but after making your first, if you don’t like the width, feel free to adjust it to whatever measurements you’d like. All you have to do is cast on more or fewer stitches based on your preferences.
Patterns
Garter Stitch Headband
Cast on accordingly NB(3-6 M, 6-12 M, Toddler, Child, Teen, Adult)
Cast on 4(5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 10)
Row 1: Knit all the way down
Row 2: Repeat row 1 until reaching the desired length: 12″(12.5″, 13.5″, 15″, 15.5″, 17″, 18″) without stretching the fabric.
Once you have reached the desired length, cast off leaving a 16″ tail to sew the ends together.
Now make the twist shown in the video and sew the two ends together.
Note 1: If you are using 100% Merino Wool don’t pull the yarn too hard as you are sewing because it could split.
Note 2: To modify the width of this headband, cast on any number of stitches.
Seed Stitch Headband
Cast on accordingly NB(3-6 M, 6-12 M, Toddler, Child, Teen, Adult)
Cast on 5(5, 7, 7, 9, 11, 11)
Row 1: Knit, (Purl, Knit). Repeat the sequence all the way down.
Note 2: To modify the width of this headband, cast on an odd number of stitches. This is to simplify your life, that way you will always start with a Knit stitch. You could use any number of stitches if you prefer, but please make sure to alternate the stitches on each row.
And that is all for today friends! I hope you enjoyed this pattern, if so please don’t forget to tag me in your pictures, you can find me on Instagram as @CJ.Dsgn
