Hello hello!
As many of you know, I absolutely love attending markets in my area, it is something that I enjoy a lot.
Mostly I do fall-winter markets because I can sell the things I like to make the most (hats, booties, scarves). So I never really attend spring-summer markets.
Simply because I don’t know what to make that is quick and easy to make, but at the same time cute and functional.
Pin now, crochet later!
But this year is different, I have decided to give spring-summer markets a try and see how things go. One thing that I wasn’t sure about was the items that I was going to sell.
Now I got plenty of ideas and one of those is these beautiful Scrunchies!
I know they have been around for a while, but honestly, I didn’t see any I liked until I created my own.
These scrunchies are simple, yet beautiful. Quick and easy to make and the best part, they’re so cute!
I made them extra wide because I really like that “full” look, I like bulky scrunchies, but that is obviously a personal preference.

Pattern
Start by leaving a long tail, grab the yarn with your crochet hook and pass it through your elastic.
Now, with both strands of yarn held together, chain 2.
Continue holding both strands together and now double crochet 2.
Now you can leave your tail aside (we will weave that in at the end).
Continue making double crochet all the way around your elastic, anything between 60-70 stitches would be good.
As you get to the middle or you don’t have more space to continue with your double crochet, pull your live stitches back a little bit, to create that scrunched look and to give yourself more room to continue with the pattern.
Make sure not to pull your elastic too much, we don’t want it to be stretched out.
Once you get to the end, join the round with a slip stitch.
Now, if you like the look of your scrunchie, you could stop right now and be done. But like I said, I really like a good bulky scrunchie so we are going to do an extra round.
For this next round, you need to chain 1, then single crochet in the same space, then single crochet two together in the next one.
Repeat this sequence all the way around.
Once you’re done, now just join the round with a slip stitch and cut your yarn leaving a long tail.
With your tapestry needle, weave in the end as much as you can, making sure the yarn is nice and secure.
Now you’re done and you can make as many as you’d like!
