Hello hello!
Today’s post/video is the first one of a new series that I’m starting. Every week I will teach you how to crochet a super easy baby blanket.
I’ve often said that easy/simple doesn’t necessarily mean “boring” or “ugly”.
In fact, I think it’s the opposite.
As long as you have a very nice colour combination, all your projects should look amazing! No matter the complexity of your project.
You guys know, I’m a big fan of earthy-warm colours. This blanket is not an exception.
I love neutral colours over baby colours.
But of course, that is totally up to you!
I hope you guys can get some inspiration from these blankets. Colour ideas, etc…
In this first pattern, we are going to make a colour block blanket.
I made this blanket last year and I loved it so I wanted to recreate it again to show you guys exactly how I did it.
If you have crocheted any of my projects from the Andes collection, you already know how easy this stitch is.
Stay tuned for that video tutorial and blog post that will go live next week.
Make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you will get notified when that video is up.

Pattern
Start with the foundation chain
Chain 56 + 1
Row 1: HDC in the second chain from the hook
Continue with HDC all the way down (you should have 56 stitches)
Row 2: Chain 1, now work HDCBLO in the second chain from the hook.
Repeat row 2 until you run out of yarn.
Make sure to stop at the end of the row with colour 1 and don’t start another row if you feel like you don’t have enough yarn.
I was able to make app. 11 rows with each colour.
Please note: Not all Lionbrand yarn Wool-ease thick and quick yarn has the same yardage- Some of them contain less yarn.
Repeat the same step with each colour.
To switch colours, crochet the last stitch but don’t finish it. Close that stitch with the new colour. That way you will have an invisible join.
Once you are done with the 4 colours, your blanket is ready!
All you have to do is weave in the ends and of course, you can add any personal touches, like pompoms on the corners, or tassels, maybe fringes or a nice border.
From here you can modify and add whatever elements you’d like!
Measurements
My blanket measures app. 34″x26″/86cm x 66 cm
