Hello everyone!
Today’s pattern is a very simple one. It’s super cute and quick to make.
The Bubbles Baby Blanket.
I couldn’t choose one colour for this blanket so I made it with 4 colours instead. You can choose one, two, three or as many colours as you’d like.
The possibilities for this blanket are endless! You can also choose a cute border for it.
I wanted to keep things as simple as possible and it turned out very very cute!
If you are looking for a last-minute Baby shower gift, I’ve got your back! I promise it will take you just a couple of hours to finish this blanket and of course, it’s gender-neutral!
Be creative with your colour combinations or keep it simple with just one!
There isn’t a specific order for the colours, I just crocheted a few rows with one colour, some more with others and so on.
Feel free to modify this and play around.

Now let’s talk materials for BABY BLANKETS
There’s no specific type of yarn for baby blankets, I do believe that it is a personal choice.
Of course, there are some really soft/hypoallergenic options out there, but to me, when it comes to my baby unless the yarn is touching the baby’s face, I don’t really use the “baby yarn”.
Again, that is a personal choice.
For my baby, I have been using regular Acrylic yarn and it has worked really well.
Most acrylic yarns are very soft. Therefore; not itchy on the baby’s skin.
When making a blanket, this usually won’t be touching the baby’s face anyway so I don’t think it’s a big deal if you use another type of yarn.
Now, when we are making a hat or a garment and we know it will touch the baby’s skin, then I would 100% recommend using a very soft/hypoallergenic type of yarn.
My baby is not allergic to wool but I still prefer using soft acrylic yarn for him.
Here is a picture of the yarn I used for this project. I used 4 balls in different colours.

Pattern
We are going, to begin with, the foundation chain.
Chain 90
Row 1: HDC in the second chain from the hook. Continue with HDC all the way down (89)
Row 2-5: Chain 1, turn your work, now HDC all the way down (89)
Row 6: Chain 1, turn your work, *HDC 5, BS, HDC 5. Repeat from * to the end. (89)
Row 7-9: Chain 1, HDC all the way down (89)
Row 10: Chain 1, turn your work, HDC 8, then *BS, HDC 5, BS. Repeat this sequence until you have 8 stitches left. HDC 8 (89)
Row 11-13: Chain 1, turn your work, HDC all the way down (89)
Row 14: Repeat row 6 (89)
Row 15-17: HDC all the way down (89)
Row 18: Repeat row 10 (89)
Now repeat rows 6 and 10, separated for 3 rows of just HDC. Continue until you have reached the desired length of your blanket
The blanket needs to finish the same way as it started, with 5 rows of HDC
I crocheted a total of 103 rows.
My blanket measures 93 (36.5 inches) cm long x 68 cm (27 inches) wide.
Diagram
NOTE: I made this diagram with just two rows of HDC at the beginning, to save space, because the only thing we need to know is how the BS is made apart from each other. In this pattern I started with 5 rows of HDC, however, you can make as many rows as you’d like!
