Hello hello!
It is finally here! Yayy! After a week or two, my crochet blanket is finally done!
I was very impatient making this blanket because I usually use chunky yarn unless It’s a baby blanket.
This is the first time I have crocheted an adult-size blanket with worsted-weight yarn, and let me tell you, it is beautiful, but definitely needs a lot of patience.
It is stunning, the colours are beautiful and it’s lightweight, which is nice.

This blanket is fun, full of colours, and it is a fun project to work on the weekends.
Here, we have a ton of possibilities, we can combine different colours, or make it only one, but why would we?
The yarn I used is really fun because it changes as you go, making it even more interesting because you constantly want to progress to see what colour comes next.
Though I have mixed feelings about this yarn, let me give you my opinion and then you can decide if this is a good fit for you, or if you would like to try a new yarn.
The yarn I used is called Caron Blossom Cakes by Yarnspirations, I’m not sure but I think you can only get it at Michaels.
Pros about this yarn:
- The colours are beautiful.
- It’s lightweight so your blanket won’t be super heavy.
- The cake comes with a lot f yardage.
Cons about this yarn:
- As you crochet, it will get fuzzy.
- The fuzzies will transfer to your clothes afterwards.
So yes, the cons are very annoying, but do I regret crocheting this blanket with this yarn? Absolutely not.
I still think it’s worth it, and hey, who knows, the fuzzies might not transfer after I wash it. I will give it a try and let you guys know how that goes.
The stitch I’m using to make this blanket, it’s the beautiful Granny stripes stitch. Which is the same stitch used to make granny squares.
The other thing to mention is that my blanket is pretty big, but I will give you guys the details to adjust the width if you want to.
And if you don’t want to be making calculations, don’t worry, I did them for you, I got you. You can purchase the ad-free printable pattern PDF that includes 13 sizes!
You can get the Ad-FREE PDF pattern from my Shop or Etsy.

Patterns
Chain 170
Row 1: Sc in the second ch from the hook. Sc all the way across (169)
Row 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same sts, [skip 2, 3 dc in the next st]. Repeat the sequence all the way across. 2 dc in the last sts. (169)
Row 3: Ch 3, 3 dc in the first space from the previous row (the space between the clusters), [3 dc in each cluster space]. Repeat the sequence all the way across. 1 dc in the last st (on top of the turning ch from the previous row).
Row 4: Ch 3, 1 dc in the same space as the ch, [3 dc in each cluster space]. 2 dc in the last st.
Now alternate rows 3 and 4 for a total of 120 rows (counting the first sc row).
Note: I did 3 rows of one colour, then 1 of white/cream then 3 rows of another colour and so on.
If you are planning on making a border, every time you are done with one colour, simply cut the yarn and join the new colour with a knot. If you are not planning on making a border, cut the yarn and leave a tail and start the new colour. At the end of your project, you need to weave in all the ends.
Making the border:
With your desired colour, hdc all the way across the top of your blanket. Then 3 hdc in the same sts at the end to create a corner. Once you get to the sides of your blanket, 2 hdc in each row (see picture below). At the bottom crochet 1 hdc in each ch and repeat the same for all 4 corners and sides.
Final size: 57″ x 66″
If you would like to modify the width of this blanket, all you have to do is chain a multiple of 3 + 2.
And now you are done! Yay! This beautiful blanket can be customized to any size and colour. So fun and fairly quick to make.

Looking forward to making this for my son! How was the Caron Blossom Cakes yarn after you washed it? I’m looking at using Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn acrylic worsted weight. Have you ever used this yarn for projects and if so, how has it held up over time and washings? Thanks!

Hi! I haven’t washed my blanket yet, but so far it’s been great! I live in Canada, and unfortunately, we don’t have Hobby Lobby here. I’m sure your blanket would look amazing!
