The Maple beanie pattern is finally live!!!
Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I posted a free tutorial/pattern and I’m super happy to be back!
Pin it now, knit it later!
This hat it’s been requested NON-STOP from all of my Instagram followers so I knew I had to write the pattern down and give it to you guys for free!
This beanie is probably the easiest to knit, perfect for those who are just starting to learn how to knit.
You only need to know how to make the knit stitch, that’s it, no increases or decreases, no complicated stitches, just the knit stitch.

Let’s begin with the video tutorial
Materials
- 8 mm/16″ Circular Knitting needles
- 1 skein of Worsted weight yarn – I used Patons Canadiana. You will need the following amount of yarn depending on the size that you want to knit:
Newborn: 58 grams/108 meters approx.
3-6 Months: 62 grams/116 meters approx.
6-12 Months: 76 grams/142 meters approx.
Toddler: 83 grams/155 meters approx.
Child: 89 grams/166 meters approx.
Teen: 94 grams/176 meters approx.
Adult: 100 grams/187 meters approx
Stitches you should know
This pattern is 100% beginner-friendly, however, I would recommend at least knowing how to do the “Longtail” cast-on method.
Gauge
4″x4″ = 13 stitches x 17 rows
Pattern
Using the “longtail” cast-on method, cast on accordingly to your desired size:
Newborn(3-6, 6-12, Toddler, Child, Teen, Adult)
Cast-on 42(44, 44, 46, 46, 48, 48)
Join for working in the round
Round 1: Knit all the way around
Round 2: Repeat round 1 for the following number of rounds: 75(80,98,107,115,122,130)
You should have a super long tube.
Thread your tapestry needle and slip the tail through all the working loops on your needles
Do the same on the other side of your hat. Grab your tapestry needle and slip the tail through all the cast-on stitches.
Fold your hat in half. With your tapestry needle sew the inside top of the hat, making sure it’s nice and secure.
Now before sewing, the outside, grab both strings of yarn, pull them tight and make a few knots to secure them together.
Thread both strings of yarn together and pass them through the inside and then outside again. Repeat this a few times to make sure both layers of your hat are attached together properly.
