The first Andes Collection project!
This beautiful headband is a very easy and fun project! It uses a very little amount of material.
You can make it as wide as you’d like and it’s perfect for markets or to give as a gift!
Pin it now, crochet later!
For this project, I will be using a category #5 Bulky weight yarn, which makes it really quick to work with.
If you don’t have any bulky yarn or you’d like to use Worsted weight from your stash, you can also use that by holding two strands of yarn together.

Remember always to share your final product using the hashtag #AndesHeadband and tag me on Instagram or Facebook. We can’t forget how important it is to give credit to the designer and share their videos/blogs. This way you are supporting my work and I can continue offering you FREE patterns and videos!
Another detail I would like to mention is that even though this is a very simple stitch, it looks like a knitting project but NO!, it’s CROCHET!
Now, let’s get started!

Pattern
Let’s begin with the foundation chain (make sure this chain is not too tight, otherwise, it will hurt and feel uncomfortable around your head)
Chain 59
Row 1: First of all, turn your chain and we will work in the back, not the front as we would typically do. Then HDCSS in the second chain from the hook. Keep working all the way along (58 stitches in total)
Row 2: Chain 1, turn your work. Now work an HDCSS BLO in the first stitch available. Repeat all the way down (58)
TIP! – If it is hard for you to recognize either the first or last stitch of each row, I suggest you place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each row, as well as counting your stitches in each row will help you to keep track and not end up with more/fewer stitches in your project.
Row 3-14: Repeat row #2 (58)
Note 1: I crocheted 14 rows because I like the look of a very wide headband, this is a personal preference so if you want to adjust this you can totally do it.
Once you’re done cut the yarn; leaving a long tail to sew the ends together
Fold both ends together, and carefully sew them, making sure you’re not missing any spots, or else it will leave a small hole and we don’t want that.
Then tie a few knots, weave in the ends, cut the remaining yarn and you are DONE!
